Hide Away
While not entirely pleasant to watch for the first half, it was beautifully shot on Bower’s Bay on Lake Michigan. A simple story, almost more of a snapshot than a film with a complex narrative and driving plot line.
Key Largo
Great movie and most likely where Don’s love of coastal movies began.
White Squall
Both a great coastal AND sailing movie. Based on the true story of the training brigantine Albatross which sank May 2nd, 1961. Hmmm, that date seems familiar.
Tollbooth (1994)
A very Carl Hiaasen-esque movie that very possibly nobody but Don has seen. Based around the drama of a South Florida tollbooth.
