Air-Fried Hamburger

Air-Fried Hamburger

While I’ve had my air fryer for almost 4 years now, I’ve never cooked a hamburger in it. Today’s the day! I took a frozen 1/4 LB patty I created a couple weeks ago out of the freezer and let it de-thaw for about an hour. I seasoned it with salt and pepper and put it into the air fryer at 400° for eight minutes. Meanwhile I mixed some Duke’s Mayo with some Dijon mustard and some Worcestershire sauce. This would be my burger sauce. At 8 minutes I flipped the burger and laid a slice of Black Forest Ham next to it, and cooked both 2 more minutes. I then put a slice of Cheddar cheese on the burger and put a sliced Bollilo (available at Food Lion) bun on the second rack and cooked everything for 1 more minute. Construction: Bottom bun. Sauce....

Pickled Chicken Wings

Pickled Chicken Wings

I’ve been seeing this online…pickled wings, but have largely ignored this. But when it came to do my first batch of wings in my new air fryer rotisserie tumbler, I wanted to do something new. A wing I haven’t cooked before, and a way I have not cooked a wing before. I have no shortage of pickle juice in my life. I cook with pickles and I snack on pickles. I have 4 large jars of pickles in my life at any time. Usually Kosher Dills, as that is my favorite. So today we dumped a pound of chicken wings into a bowl, poured all the juice I could spare on top. I added some dill. We covered it up, tossed it around and let it sit for 6 hours. We did turn it on occasion, maybe twice. Then we put them in a colander and let the dry a bit, about 5 minutes....

Chick Pea Air Fryer Basket Tumble

Chick Pea Air Fryer Basket Tumble

The Great Chick Pea Air Fryer Basket Tumbler experiment turned out GREAT! Give me a bowl of popcorn and a good movie and I’m happy. Even if the corn was popped in olive oil, I do use butter and garlic powder for seasoning. So lately I’ve been air frying chickpeas with a variety of seasonings. But tonight I came across a game-changer. I have this new basket tumbler that I got for health-er fries and chips as well as veggies. Simply enough, I drained a can of chick peas, coated them with olive oil, seasoned them with harissa seasoning and a little salt and put them in the tumbler basket and into the air fryer for 30 minutes at 370°. Perfect snack! Great crunchy bite and lot’s of flavor. Looking forward to a Cajun an Tajin...

Air-Fried Roasted Italian Vegetables

Air-Fried Roasted Italian Vegetables

Tonight is all about Roasted Italian Vegetables. To be exact, Tumbled, Air-Fried Roasted Italian Vegetables. And that’s what makes tonight’s meal new. I’ve been cooking Roasted Italian Vegetables for decades, usually in the cooler portions of the year. But I just recently acquired a roasting basket for my air fryer. This was inspired by my latest air fried french fry craze, but I saw it for many other uses, healthy potato chips, chicken wings and roasted chick peas. But, as much as I searched, I didn’t find anything on roasting veggies, other than asparagus. So I worked this up much like any Roasted Italian Vegetables I’ve done in the past, but finer chops and a smaller amount. Mushrooms Squash Zucchini Sweet Onion Bell Peppers...
