Both a great coastal AND sailing movie. Based on the true story of the training brigantine Albatross which sank May 2nd, 1961. Hmmm, that date seems familiar.
Tollbooth (1994)
A very Carl Hiaasen-esque movie that very possibly nobody but Don has seen. Based around the drama of a South Florida tollbooth.
Waterworld
Very possibly the BEST movie ever made. Shot mostly off Hawaii.
Signs of Life
Few knew of Vincent D’Onofio back in the day…but this coastal movie caught our eye to a serious talent. Vincent also had another (generally) waterfront title with Mystic Pizza around the same time. It was shot back in the days before people started looking at ‘Indie’ films for being what they were. Mystic Pizza was actually one of the great original indie films.
